Re: “Church marks 60 years since attack — Supreme Court justice urges nation to own dark moments of history,” Sept. 16 news story.Thank you for publishing this story, a synopsis of a tragedy in American history that can’t be denied or erased. The proof lies in the cemetery where four of my friends lost their lives in a bombing at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 1963, at the hands of domestic Ku Klux Klan terrorists.
I close with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”Re: “Johnson switching parties — Mayor says big cities need Republican approach to law and order, fiscal policy,” Saturday news story.
It’s obvious that buoys alone are not going to stop migrants flowing into our country by the thousands every day. Only good policy and enforcement on the part of the federal government will stop migrants from entering the U.S. illegally.
