Readers aren’t happy how the state handled Fairfield State Park; mostly agree in stopping the Dilbert comic strip; and agree with column about the ineffectiveness of school vouchers.12:30 AM on Mar 1, 2023 CSTRe: “State scuttled Fairfield Park deal — Insider texts reveal Texas officials never took serious steps to buy the parkland,” Monday editorial.
Shame on you, Arch “Beaver” Aplin, for your double standards and your ineptitude in running Texas Parks and Wildlife and losing this beautiful gem of a park for Texas. The state of Texas allowing beautiful Fairfield State Park to be taken over by developers is sad and another example of our state leaders’ lack of concern for average citizens. Now retired, we were a working-class family spending our precious vacations enjoying the nature and beauty of our great state.
We can only hope and pray that our lieutenant governor makes this more of a priority. It would be a terrible shame if more of our state park gems are allowed to be taken from us.Re: “The News drops ‘Dilbert’ strip — Hundreds of papers have cut ties following creator’s racist remarks,” Monday news story.is not about suppressing his speech.
