Letters to the Editor
As a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for BrainHealth, I am aware of how teaching can improve when our teams go into the schools and teach teachers how to teach their students reasoning and strategy instead of teaching to memorize for a test. The students are instead taught to think and determine the core of what they have just read or seen. Once they learn that, remembering the rest is much easier.
I applaud your editorial condemning this horrible act, but I implore you to boldly call out those in power whose rhetoric and actions appeal to those prone to commit these racist attacks. Whether this young man learned to hate at home or school or church, I do not know, but I am sure he found encouragement in the words of some politicians.Re: “Vow to King’s dream persists — Honoring demonstration’s 60th anniversary, speakers urge vigilance in fight for equality,” Sunday news story.
