Readers defend the safety record of charter jets; discuss the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; do not support Proposition 12; and believe school vouchers will hurt public schools.
Proposed wide-sweeping changes to public charter regulatory definitions could have unintended negative consequences felt throughout the entire Part 135 industry, disrupting the critical emergency services and powerful economic growth our industry facilitates. Any regulatory examination must be factual, transparent and data-driven — and the facts prove that public charter flights operated by Part 135 carriers provide safe and secure services to diverse communities.
Undoubtedly, selective application of international law has created the current crisis. U.S. and NATO response to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine was to rightfully provide the latter with diplomatic and military support. But Israel’s aggression has always been rewarded by Western powers with billions in military aid and diplomatic cover at the United Nations. Israel’s impunity continues to remain unchallenged.
Some poorly executed foreign policies under President Joe Biden have led us to this tipping point in the Middle East. Moran states “the weak diplomatic and military policies and actions of the U.S. over the past three years have gone largely unchallenged, whether it is Iran, China, Russia and North Korea.”
