East Bay Times Letters to the Editor for Oct. 18, 2022
My business, Golie’s Cleaners, has been located in Concord for 30 years. As a business owner, I chose to establish my business in Concord for a number of reasons – the community, location and because I have experienced that the city leadership supports local and family-owned businesses.
A higher tax rate and more tax revenue would only transfer money from consumer pockets to the city general fund without being needed and would be inflationary. I suggest voting no on a higher sales tax rate and being proud of the current rate. For 80 years we have been privileged to have KGO’s informative and entertaining talk shows on important local and national issues. On Oct. 6, without warning to hosts and the public, all programs were abruptly removed.
