Gov. Greg Abbott continues to push for school vouchers, even if it takes a special legislative session. A reader wonders about the cost to public education.So, Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened to keep the Legislature “after school” until lawmakers agree to his terms on school vouchers? He has played this card before, and I wonder how much it costs taxpayers.
Also, special education programming is not required of private schools, and so the governor is essentially dangling a carrot in front of families who may not find anyone with expertise to work with their student once they get there. Respectfully, you folks have it wrong. Texas voters need to wake up. Incumbent Texas politicians are wide awake and doing whatever they and their funders want, not what you want.
