Readers offer their opinions on COVID\u002D19 quarantine mandates and the casual use of a phrase that suggests cruelty to animals.
My dad is in a long-term care home in Saskatoon. There are two cases of COVID in his section. Because of this, they all have to be quarantined to their area for 28 days.
Also, if a new case tests positive, for example, after 20 days, they will then be required to be isolated for another 28 days. I am having trouble seeing the rationale of these rules. In Saskatchewan, if you have COVID there is now no requirement to isolate if you test positive; yet in long-term care, the rules are to isolate for 14 days, and if you are COVID-free, isolate for another 14 days, or 28 days altogether.
