Letter: 'Obviously the ends now justify the means to gain power in [the Republican Party] at this time in history. This party now seems to be breeding and cheering on liars.'

If someone can tell bald faced lies every time he opens his mouth, like Trump did to become president, why can’t someone else? Why can’t every Republican running for any office or position of power tell lies to get what they want? It seems to have become an OK tactic to gain power in the Republican Party.

In fact, if you’re a Republican and you tell the truth, you will be unelected as soon as “wyomingly” possible; i.e. Liz Cheney! Obviously the ends now justify the means to gain power in this party at this time in history. This party now seems to be breeding and cheering on liars. Otherwise, why would someone risk his position and future credibility if it were frowned upon by those in power? Obviously, behind closed caucus doors, liars are encouraged if they believe the outcome will not be challenged.

To my knowledge, the last Democrat was James E. Faust, who died in 2007.
