A Wheaton letter to the editor: What is the 'rule of law?' is Question 12 on the U.S. naturalization test.

What is the"rule of law?" is Question 12 on the U.S. naturalization test. No one is above the law is the most succinct, easy to remember answer for those who study for their citizenship.

Everyone must follow the law, Leaders must obey the law or government must obey the law are also acceptable answers for that question about the"rule of law." MAGA extremists and their insurrection-inciting leader obviously lack knowledge of our U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. They are outraged to be held accountable for their actions, believing they are above the law.

For all who are found guilty of criminal involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on our Capitol, violation of the Espionage Act, conspiracy to obstruct justice, election fraud and other crimes against our nation -- punishment should include a requirement to study and correctly answer all 100 civic questions of the U.S. naturalization test.

The sore loser of our fair and secure 2020 presidential election would likely need to cheat to pass the U.S. citizenship test. No one is above the law written with a Sharpie or a prison tattoo on the inside of his flabby forearm might help the fact-challenged former president answer at least one question correctly.
