Letter: 'The time has come to listen to the experts/scientists, use common sense, and avoid politicizing this problem.'
As I remember this, her depth of knowledge probably surpassed that of people who were born and lived here for many years. I thought this lake and this state would be a place I’d definitely want to see someday.
After four months of living in California, my husband and I moved here to work for The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, and we have been here ever since. I have wondered myself why measures to prevent and mitigate the looming disintegration of this ecological wonder have never materialized. Obviously, prayers and “lamentations” are not enough. And when I read in the Feb. 3 edition of The Tribune that “afor the Great Salt Lake was voted down by a Senate committee,” I am dismayed and frankly disgusted also. As ordinary residents here, we are doing our part to curtail water usage.
The time has come to listen to the experts/scientists, use common sense, and avoid politicizing this problem. We are a part of this natural world, and ultimately nature will prevail.
