Metsing fled to South Africa previously when Prime Minister Tom Thabane's government first made attempts to charge him.
MASERU - Former Lesotho Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing and former army commander Tlali Kamoli are expected to appear in court next week to be charged with treason for the alleged 2014 coup.In August 2014, there was an alleged coup that led to Thabane fleeing.
He said he believed his deputy at the time, Metsing, backed by Kamoli were intending to topple him and or kill him. The Southern African Development Community intervened and a settlement was reached that led to elections that Thabane lost.Now deputy police commissioner Paseka Mokete said Metsing, his then secretary general Selibe Mochoboroane, and Kamoli would appear in court.Kamoli has already been in custody for two years awaiting trial for the murder of former army commander Maaparankoe Mahao.
