This was revealed through submissions that advocate Mokitimi Tšosane made on behalf of the Transformation Resource Centre and other civic groups in Lesotho at the ongoing 75th African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights in Banjul, Gambia.

Under the new government, there was a marked improvement in civil-police relations, so the state should take advantage of that to bring human rights violators to justice, Tšosane said. The Lesotho Mounted Police Service apologised for this in a press statement, but no one has been held accountable so far.
