Les Wexner, former CEO of L Brands, testified before state lawmakers, denying any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's sexual misconduct, including seeing Epstein engage in sexual contact or other criminal activity. He described their relationship as professional and downplayed his visits to Epstein's properties, while also addressing a birthday note he wrote for Epstein. denied under oath that he ever saw Jeffrey Epstein engage in sexual contact with underage girls or young women, saying he wasHe described their relationship as professional and repeatedly answered “absolutely not” when asked if he saw sexual contact or other criminal activity.
Wexner also testified he did not recall ever seeing photographs or other images of women or minors during any visits to Epstein’s properties. He told lawmakers he never traveled on Epstein’s plane and said he visited Epstein’s island once, staying about an hour during what he described as a family cruise. Asked whether he recalled seeing any prominent figures there, Wexner replied, “No. It was a pretty crummy island.” Wexner acknowledged one trip to Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, saying he and his wife, Abigail, flew down, drove around for “an hour or two,” then came home. Wexner said he saw no one notable at the property. The testimony came as state lawmakers reopened an investigation into the ranch, looking into allegations of potential criminal activity after the DOJ released FBI records. Oversight Committee members pressed Wexner on the brevity of those trips. He answered that quick travel was routine for him, comparing getting on a plane to “going to the mailbox.” Wexner also faced questions about a birthday note he contributed for Epstein’s 50th birthday. The letter included the line, “I wanted to get you what you want so here it is.” Asked what he believed Epstein would want, Wexner said Epstein was a bachelor and that he drew “a pair of boobs” as an offhand joke. A longtime Epstein associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, previously told the DOJ that Epstein ran New Albany. Wexner disputed that, saying Epstein was a financial adviser to the New Albany Company. When asked about Epstein's title as co-president, Wexner said he did not remember, adding, " was the president, chairman of the board, and then the CEO of a company. But I really just thought my job was to be the president. So that the titles wouldn't have meant anything to me." Wexner denied knowing about quarterly payments from Epstein going to OSU Wexner Medical Center OB-GYN, Dr. Mark Landon, who has said he was paid for consulting work related to biotech investments.Wexner, whose wife and daughter received services from the OB-GYN, called it “weird” that money tied to him was used for consulting services without his knowledge. He said Landon never talked to him about the payments, and Wexner did not know Epstein knew the doctor. After answering questions for nearly four and a half hours, a microphone picked up one of Wexner’s lawyers urging him to shorten his responses. In the recording, the attorney said, “I will f****ng kill you if you answer another question with more than five words,” prompting laughter from Wexner before the lawyer told him to answer the question. The deposition continued for about 30 more minutes.Wexner defended his character to the end, saying rumors and innuendos made him angry because he considered himself “a very straight arrow” and “a very responsible person.” He also said he now believes Epstein lived a double life and that, looking back, he had been conned by what he called a “Authorities initially said the shooting appeared to be a burglary and reported signs of forced entry.Police in Newark are asking for the public’s help as an urgent search continues for a missing 12-year-old girl who was last seen a week ago.Sahannah Clark was lGrief is spreading through Muskingum County after a Saturday head-on crash killed three young people.A jury declined to indict a father who allegedly fatally shot his daughter in the chest following an argument about President Donald Trump.
