The news comes just as fans were getting excited about a potential return to the stage.

But former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, who served as the musical director for Tyler’s return, put that to rest,“Let me just explain what’s happening with Steven Tyler, because he’s a really good friend,” Sorum said. “He went out and sang. And it was a really big moment for him because he hurt himself bad. Now, is he gonna tour again? No, he’s not.
“I wanted to explain that to the fans that are commenting, ‘Oh, he’s singing,” he added. “To have him on stage was — I cried. It was just beautiful. And I hope that he can do more, because it’s in his blood.”That came after Tyler fractured his larynx in a show on Sept. 9, 2023, and the band pointed to that in a lengthy statement when it announced it was stepping away from the road.
