Christopher Burch | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com“Once we became rich, we all became millionaires, everybody started going their own way,” Frehley, 73, said. “Everybody had their own limo. Everybody had their own bodyguard. So, you know, nothing can last forever.”
Frehley co-founded the iconic rock band with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss in 1973. He was a member of the group until 1982 amid its meteoric rise to fame with hits like “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City” and “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” to name a few. The band’s form changed over the years after his exit. Criss was the first original member to leave in 1980. Anton Fig, Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer all performed with the band throughout the years.
Frehly joined the band for a second stint from 1996 to 2002 but he did not perform during KISS’ farewell tour in 2023. “We created something that will endure way after we’re all dead.
