Umberto's Fish Bar has announced it will be closing again for the second time in two years
Umberto's Fish Bar on Watery Lane in Preston has made the decision to close due to the "rising costs of products." Announcing the news yesterday on social media, stating they "tried to offer something different for Preston" which was "either love or hate."
New owner Richard Fisher-Godwin grew up close to the iconic chip shop and is well-acquainted with the legacy it holds. The businessman, along with his business partner Gavin, wanted to bring Umberto's up to restaurant-level quality whilst also offering a takeaway too. LancsLive tried a portion of fish and chips to see if the "proof was in the eating." We found the service to be exemplary and the overall experience was nothing short of great. The price of a small fish and chips was £7.75, but the "fish was one of the best", so you don't mind paying a little bit more.
