Leeward Capital Corp. is set to acquire Burton Growers Ltd., a privately held cannabis company with a Health Canada licensed greenhouse in southern Alberta. The acquisition will grant Leeward access to Burton Growers' cultivation, processing, and sales capabilities, along with its potential for export.
LEWARD CAPITAL CORP. announced it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Burton Growers Ltd., a private company that owns a Health Canada Cannabis licensed greenhouse located in southern Alberta. Burton Growers received its Cannabis Standard Processing, Standard Cultivation, and Sale for Medical Purposes license from Health Canada on November 29, 2024, for a five-year term.
The company is entitled to cultivate, process, and make direct sales through its website and otherwise. The license also allows Burton Growers to market and sell Cannabis produced by third parties and apply for an export license to foreign jurisdictions. Burton Growers is differentiated from many other Cannabis cultivators as it is a true greenhouse relying on the sun rather than costly lighting. The 25,000 square foot greenhouse has an attached 6,000 square foot administration and processing facility. Its location in the sunniest area of Canada and amidst numerous vegetable and fruit greenhouses in southern Alberta is expected to provide a competitive advantage. Burton Growers anticipates lower power costs compared to indoor grows and significantly less land costs
