Leeds United can extend their unbeaten run to seven games this afternoon at St Mary's

Daniel Farke has made an unchanged Leeds United starting XI to take on Southampton at St Mary’s. The Whites have the opportunity to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games in the Championship and establish themselves in the play-off places.

Joe Rodon is eligible after serving a one-match suspension last time out and but he is only named on the bench to take on the Saints with Farke giving Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper the nod at the heart of defence. The pair are both left footers but they performed well together against Watford and they’ve been rewarded for their efforts.

Luke Ayling is overlooked with Jamie Shackleton selected at right-back for the second straight game, while Glen Kamara is preferred in the middle of the park. The Finland international made his full debut against the Hornets and keeps his spot over Archie Gray, who must make do with a bench spot.Patrick Bamford is named on the bench and could be set to make his first appearance of the season should Farke look his way.

Leeds United: lllan Meslier; Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk, Liam Cooper, Sam Bryam; Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara; Crysencio Summerville, Joel Piroe, Dan James; Georginio Rutter Bench: Karl Darlow, Luke Ayling, Archie Gray, Jaidon Anthony, Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt, Ilia Gruev, Ian Poveda, Joe Rodon.
