It is likely Daniel Farke will make a number of changes to his starting XI
Daniel Farke is acutely aware of the size of the challenge facing his Leeds United side this evening. Middlesbrough finished just outside of the Championship play-off positions last time around and made it through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
"We know we face one of the best sides in this league - one of the favourites to finish in the top six at least," said Whites chief Farke at his pre-match press conference. "They have a really good coach and real quality players. A good blend of experience. They will come with confidence after a first win and a proper cup run last season. They will try to repeat this again."
Farke has the luxury of a fully-fit squad to choose from for the televised tie as United chase their first win of the campaign. Karl Darlow, Sam Byram, Max Wober, Charlie Crew, Joe Rothwell, Brenden Aaronson, Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt will all come into Farke's thoughts. Aaronson received some flak from the home faithful after being introduced in Saturday's thrilling draw at home to Portsmouth but saved them a point with a late strike following good work from Piroe.
