Ipswich Town moved a small step closer to promotion thanks to a draw at Hull City on Saturday night
Ipswich Town still need four points from their final two games of the season to secure automatic promotion and ensure Leeds United must have to go through the play-offs if they are to make an immediate return to the Premier League. A 3-3 draw on Saturday night at Hull City took Ipswich level on 90 points with Leeds heading into the final week of the league season and with a game in hand still to play., but with the Whites boasting a far greater goal difference.
The Tractor Boys went into the game with the significant boost of having seen Leeds put to the sword by Queens Park Rangers 24 hours earlier, a result that left them in a commanding position in the race for automatic promotion alongside Leicester City, who secured their Premier League return as a result of Leeds' 4-0 loss at Loftus Road.
That looked to be the case until Noah Ohio spoiled the visiting party and sent the home fans wild with an 87th minute equaliser, which left Ipswich with work to do and kept Hull's play-off hopes alive heading into the final day.
