Leeds Council has been forced to change bin collection times for Tuesday

Leeds City Council has issued an important bin collection update amid the extreme weather conditions which has seen record breaking temperatures in Yorkshire today.

A spokesperson for the authority said collections will start at 6am and crews will not return to collect any bins put out after this time.This update comes as it was also announced that Tropical World will close on Monday and Tuesday "to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and the animals" amid the red weather alert.

A statement from the authority states: “The Arium Café is closed but the Coffee POD will remain open. All other parks cafes will be open as usual but offering a reduced menu.
