LeBron James: Lakers 'Not A Team Constructed Of Great Shooting' - RealGM Wiretap
The Los Angeles Lakers shot just 10-of-40 on three-pointers in their season-opening loss at the Golden State Warriors. Following the game, LeBron James was frank in his assessment of that part of the Lakers game.
“We’re getting great looks, but it could also be teams giving us great looks. To be completely honest, we’re not a team constructed of great shooting," James said."It’s not like we’re sitting here with a lot of lasers on our team.” Los Angeles' starting five of James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley and Lonnie Walker IV combined to go 5-of-24 from behind the arc. Those failures from distance led Lakers coach Darvin Ham to give Matt Ryan 18 minutes, after Ryan made the team off of a training camp contract. Ham said postgame he was looking for a way to get some shooting on the floor, which Ryan can provide.
