Beliau berkata demikian ketika berucap pada Majlis Perasmian Nakawan Rainforest Festival sempena sambutan Hari Hutan Antarabangsa peringkat negeri Perlis tahun 2024 di Dataran Pejabat Hutan Daerah Perlis Selatan, Kawasan Ekopelancongan Sungai Batu Pahat di sini hari ini. “Pada masa ini, keluasan kawasan berhutan negara adalah 18 juta hektar atau 54.58 peratus daripada keluasan tanah negara. Di peringkat Persekutuan, Kerajaan telah mengemas kini dan memperkenalkan Dasar Kepelbagaian Biologi Kebangsaan 2022-2030 dan Dasar Perhutanan Malaysia untuk memperkukuh usaha pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan kawasan berhutan dan konservasi biodiversiti di negeri-negeri.
