A body was found today after a long-running search for the missing teen
Tributes are being paid to Jay Slater after police teams searching for the missing teenager found a body in Tenerife yesterday .
Sadly four weeks since the 19 year-old was last heard from, Spanish police said human remains had been found in the Masca area of the island, where Jay's phone last pinged. The Civil Guard said 'everything is pointing to the body being that' of Jay and confirmed they believe he 'may have suffered an accident or fall in the area'. The body has not yet been formally identified.
Although formal identification is yet to be carried out, the body was found with Mr Slater’s possessions and clothes. On Tuesday , a court official in Tenerife said fingerprints had been matched to Jay's.
