The leader of a West Virginia Proud Boys chapter pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one charge regarding his involvement in the Capitol riot.

Jeffrey Finley, 29, faces up to one year in prison for one count of entering or remaining in an off-limits building, according to the plea agreement, the Hill reported. His sentencing is scheduled for July 19.Photos from Jan. 6 show Finley in a blue suit, red hat, and earpiece walking with a group of people to the eastern part of the Capitol before walking back to the western side more than two hours later on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the Justice Department.

During the riot, Finley sent a message with the words"Boots on the Ground" to a Telegram channel used by the Proud Boys. After Finley left the Capitol, he sent a series of messages in which he said that he had been"f****** taking pictures with the boys" and was unable to get back in. Days after the riot, Finley not only deleted his social media and the photos and videos he had taken that day but advised other members of the Proud Boys to delete them as well, according to the plea agreement.

Finley had initially been charged with knowingly entering and remaining in an off-limits building, engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct while in a restricted building, and engaging in disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.Finley's guilty plea comes a day after another Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio, appeared virtually to plead not guilty to multiple federal felony charges regarding his involvement in the riot.
