Ricardo Flores, 59, was arrested Thursday while returning from Mexico to the United States.
The leader of a shamanistic community was arrested Wednesday after multiple people reported sexual assaults they said took place in Riverside County.
Investigators arrested Flores around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, alleging he committed multiple assaults around Riverside County. He was arrested at the border while returning to the United States from Mexico and booked on suspicion of sexual assault and child sexual abuse. The sheriff’s department didn’t specify what community Flores led. Shamanistic communities are generally defined as places where people who practice shamanism can hold rituals and ceremonies and practice their religious and spiritual beliefs.
