Le'Veon Moss powered through a stomach bug to rush for 139 yards as the Aggies reached their first 4-0 start since 2016 with a 16-10 victory over the Tigers.
Texas A&M had different plans rushing for 207 yards against the Tigers defense, defeating Auburn 16-10 inside Kyle Field. Aggies running back Le’Veon Moss led the ground game with 139 yards on 21 carries.
Moss also averaged 6.6 yards a carry and Auburn edge rusher Chris Murray broke down why they weren’t able to stop the run. “Honestly, I just feel like we were missing tackles. The one-one-one tackles, even though we altered our gaps perfectly, we got to make the tackle. We got to make the first man make the tackle,”“First man missing that gives yards after contact. That’s pretty difficult, but I feel like we’re going to tune in to film, watch film and keep going back and forth and watching what we’ve got to work on,” Murray added. Sophomore Rueben Owens II rushed for Texas A&M’s second longest gain with an explosive 33-yard rush, adding to the Aggies dominant day on the ground. “I heard people saying we really couldn’t run the ball,” Moss said postgame. “It was a statement game for us, the offensive line and the running backs.” This was Moss fifth career 100-yard game at Texas A&M and his first of the 2025 season. However, postgame he revealed that he was dealing with a stomach bug and played through it. “It’s kind of difficult,” Moss said. “Your stomach is hurting and you’re throwing up every time you get off the game. It’s kind of weird... but I got better as the game went on after I took a little medicine.” A positive from Auburn’s defense was holding Texas A&M to just three third down conversions on 14 attempts. Auburn’s defense gave the offense a chance to take its first lead of the game in the fourth quarter. But Texas A&M’s 246 rushing yards in the first half dug the Tigers into a 13-3 hole early on. “‘Hold your head high.’ This off week, get everybody healthy, get everybody right and just focus on what we did wrong in this game,” Auburn linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr. said. “Find a way to come out in big games like this and be on top, be in the lead and come out with a win.” Texas A&M improves to its first 4-0 start since 2016 and Auburn drops to 3-2 overall after losing back-to-back conference games. The Tigers return to Jordan-Hare stadium after their open week. They will host a Georgia team who ranks 27th in the country, averaging 213.5 rushing yards per game.
