Frito-Lay has issued a limited recall of Lay's Classic Potato Chips in Alaska due to the potential presence of milk, which could pose a serious health risk to individuals with milk allergies or sensitivities.

FastCast morning digital headlines for Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024.ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Frito-Lay has issued a limited recall of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips, which may contain milk. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. The product included in this recall was distributed to certain retail stores and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington.

However, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation’s Food Safety and Sanitation Program confirmed Tuesday morning that these chips have been distributed throughout the state. The Food Safety and Sanitation Program has also confirmed that no illnesses have been reported so far in Alaska. The recalled chips include Lay’s Classic Potato Chips, in flexible 13 oz. bags with the UPC code 28400 31041, a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 11 Feb 2025, and one of either two manufacturing codes: 6462307xx or 6463307xx.If consumers have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, they should not consume the chips and discard them immediately
