The suit initiated by Rosli Dahlan was previously set to be heard in the Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning.

Senior lawyer Rosli Dahlan is suing Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Adam for claiming, among others, that he had illegally profited from the government’s 1MDB asset recovery efforts.

KUALA LUMPUR: The hearing of the RM50 million defamation suit by senior lawyer Rosli Dahlan against Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam has been postponed to December next year.Berita Harian reported Lokman as confirming the case’s postponement to the end of 2024, while Rosli confirmed that the move was on Lokman’s request.

It was previously reported that Rosli filed the suit against Lokman for defamatory statements that included the claim that the lawyer for 1MDB had illegally profited from the government’s asset recovery efforts. Lokman is alleged to have accused Rosli of receiving RM1.7 billion in legal fees, 10% of the RM17 billion settlement with Goldman Sachs in the 1MDB case.Rosli has denied both claims, and is also seeking RM10 million in damages and an open apology from the Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism for related defamatory claims.

He had accused C4 of portraying him as a corrupt individual, a crony of Bersatu and its president Muhyiddin Yassin, and saying that he had embezzled money from the settlement between Goldman Sachs and the government.
