"When I received the email, we were in the start of the legislative session. I felt really bad for the family in this situation and I wish I could have done more. That's why we want to make sure we address it in this upcoming session," State Rep. Angela Romero said. "I think it's important for people to know that we care and when they bring issues to us, we take them seriously.
Paula installed cameras in her room to monitor the seizures after her daughter's deteriorating condition.Paula said because vulnerable adults who are victims of crimes like this are not protected in the same way that children are."When a citizen of our state is raped and their attacker found guilty, the severity of the punishment will be determined by whether the victim was an adult or a minor.
