A man is on the run after police said he tried to break into an apartment in Midtown late Wednesday night.

Deputies say they discovered over 20 human smuggling victims in a wooden building - that has no A/C on a property in South Bexar County.SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is responding to a human smuggling operation in far South Bexar County Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say they discovered over 20 human smuggling victims in a wooden building at the front of a property near 1604 and Oak Island Drive. Authorities say there was no A/C inside the structure. Several of the people found are being transported to a local hospital for heat exhaustion. This, as Thursday's heat index is at 100 degrees.This is a developing story.
