Parental rights and LGBT activists clashed Tuesday in Los Angeles over controversial policies in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Videos on social media showed violent clashes taking place on the streets of Los Angeles on Tuesday, prompting a police response. Parental rights activists accused the LAUSD school board of"indoctrination" due to a recently adopted resolution to push LGBT education across all of its schools.

"The District follows state laws and state approved curriculum that reflects and embraces the experiences and backgrounds of our diverse community," the spokesperson said.
"However, the District will always and unequivocally provide additional resources and support for every student, including those experiencing gender dysphoria and questioning their sexual orientation, and will respect whatever decision a student and their family determines," they added."The dark shadow of deliberate ignorance will not influence who we are or what we stand for," the statement continued.
The policy likely at the center of the controversy was a resolution passed unanimously by the school board in June, ABC 7 News reported, which aimed to incorporate LGBT education into the school curriculum. Some parental rights activists denounced the policy as an attempt at indoctrination.
