Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is no longer scheduled to speak at a youth summit in Texas after her behavior at a public theater.
Boebert was planned to speak at the Texas Youth Summit, which is free for people between the ages of 12 and 26 and set to be held Sept. 29-30 at a hotel in the Woodlands, near Houston. However, her name and photo have been removed from all advertisements on the event's Instagram page after she was removed from a showing of Beetlejuice: The Musical, during which she was vaping and acted physically intimate with a man.
"But all in all, it was mostly a lovely time, and I've taken responsibility for my actions," Boebert said in a video posted online."I'd love to know how the musical ended, and I encourage people to go and see it, but yeah, it was a great time back in the district, seeing voters."Boebert admitted during a television appearance on Sunday that she is known for being"a little too eccentric" and having an"animated personality.
Some have predicted that Boebert's theater behavior could greatly affect her reelection chances in 2024, as she almost lost reelection in her district in the 2022 midterm elections. Adam Frisch, who lost to Boebert in 2022, is running as a Democrat again for the 2024 election and raised more than $2.6 million during 2023's second fundraising quarter.
