Democrat AdamForColorado Frisch raised more than $1.7 million in the first campaign fundraising quarter, giving the former city councilman a boost before he challenges RepBoebert to a rematch in 2024. Frisch lost to Boebert by just 546 votes in 2022.
Frisch’s hefty sum consisted of a total of 48,338 donations, with the bulk of those contributions equaling $100 or less, according to his campaign. The average donation to Frisch’s campaign was roughly $35, leaving the Democratic candidate with $1.3 million cash on hand as of March 31.“I am incredibly humbled by the generosity of the tens of thousands of individuals who contributed to our campaign to bring decency and common sense back to Colorado’s 3rd district,” Frisch said in a statement.
Frisch’s revived campaign comes after the Democrat narrowly lost to Boebert in the 2022 midterm elections, falling behind the Republican incumbent by 546 votes in the deep red district. The narrow margin made the race one of the tightest races of the midterm cycle.Colorado’s 3rd District race is expected to be competitive again in 2024, with the nonpartisan Cook Political Report rating it as “Lean Republican.
Boebert has not yet released her campaign finance report from the first quarter of 2024, and a spokesperson for the Republican incumbent has not yet responded to a request for comment by the Washington Examiner.
