The New York Giants are one of a few teams who desperately needs to find a franchise quarterback. One of the latest mock drafts has the team adding an SEC star.
The 2025 NFL Draft is just weeks away and our biggest questions will soon be answered.The New York Giants are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch come draft night. The team added two veteran quarterbacks this offseason, Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, but the team continues to be linked to rookie passers.
With the No. 3 pick in the draft, the Giants should be able to land a franchise-altering player. The team may not be able to add the passer they want in the first round, and could instead decide to select a quarterback at the top of the second round.Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports recently published a four-round mock draft. Easterling had the Giants taking a best player available approach in the first round, selecting two-way star Travis Hunter.Hunter won the Heisman Trophy in 2024 after posting one of the best seasons in college football history. The athlete caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver.As a cornerback, Hunter collected 36 tackles, one tackle for loss, four interceptions, and 11 pass deflections.In the second round, Easterling had the Giants select Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe would give the Giants a young, exciting option to counteract the veteran additions by the team.Milroe is an interesting prospect. The passer threw for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns with 11 interceptions in 2024. Milroe also did a ton of damage with his legs, running for 726 yards and 20 scores.Overall, Milroe played in 38 games at Alabama and threw for 6,016 yards with 45 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. The quarterback also ended his career in Tuscaloosa with 1,577 rushing yards and 33 rushing scores.The Alabama product will be interesting to NFL teams due to his strong arm and athleticism. Milroe is extremely raw, however, and scouts have concerns about his accuracy, footwork, and decision-making.The Giants could actually be a good landing spot for Milroe. With Winston and Wilson on the roster, Milroe wouldn't be forced to start immediately. Additionally, Wilson was at one point one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, so Milroe could learn a thing or two from the veteran.If the draft falls this way, the Giants should be thrilled. The team would get possibly the best overall prospect in the first round and then a promising passer in the second without having to trade up.With head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen on the thinnest of ice, it's obvious the team needs to ace this draft.
