Reaction to the opening Premier League weekend as defending champions Manchester City beat Chelsea, plus latest transfer news and build-up to Tottenham's trip to Leicester.
Another major talking point from Crystal Palace's defeat at Brentford was an admission by referee Sam Barrott that he made a mistake after blowing his whistle for a foul before the ball crossed the line following Eberechi Eze's stunning first-half free-kick. Eze caught Brentford keeper Mark Flekken dozing to find the net with a quickly-taken set-piece, but referee Barrott had spotted a foul by Will Hughes on Collins as the ball was struck.
With the whistle blown before the ball had entered the goal, the Video Assistant Referee was unable to intervene and check Hughes' challenge to potentially overrule the onfield decision. Eze said: 'I was told that he blew too early and made the mistake. It could have changed the game but we have to deal with it. It wasn't our only chance. 'If we perform like that then we'll do well.
