Earlier this year it was announced that the Co Down TV personality would take over the coveted hosting role from Ryan Tuberity who left the RTÉ programme after 14 years.
Speaking to RTÉ after the announcement of his new role, Kielty said he was "absolutely thrilled" to be taking the reigns from Ryan Tuberty in the show's new shake-up. "I’m also genuinely humbled to become part of Friday nights for so many Irish people, at home and around the world. I can’t wait to get started on one of the greatest jobs in television."
