New car sales continue their upward trajectory by recording 29,685-unit sales—the highest monthly figure since the start of the pandemic.
Passenger car sales remained flat to 6,625 units from 6,661 units a year ago. Commercial vehicle sales, however, jumped 64.2 percent to 23,060 units from 14,041 units in the same month last year. Toyota Motor Philippines continues to lead the Philippine auto industry cornering a 49.8 percent year-to-date market share. So far, they’ve sold 37,230 units in the first three months of the year, up from 33,095 units a year ago. In March alone, they sold 15,110 units which is enough for a 50.9 percent hold of the market.
Nissan continues to be in third place selling 5,886 units or 13.2 percent higher from last year’s 5,198 units. This is enough for a 7.87 percent market share. In March, they moved 2,348 units—a 33.6 percent increase from February’s 1,757 units.
