It’s almost time, folks! It’s the final few days before public voting for the World Travel Awards’ Africa Region closes, so those who have yet to cast their vote for Table Mountain as Africa’s leading tourist destination have just one more day to do so.By drawing attention to local destinations, attractions and operators, prestigious awards bring more and more tourists to our shore each year and ultimately enable our tourism industry to continue breathing life into our regional economy.
Table Mountain and Mount Kilimanjaro are competing to take top honours at the annual World Travel Awards, often regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the travel and tourism sector. ‘Table Mountain and Mount Kilimanjaro have won the title of Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction five times each since the contest category started in 2012. And as a matter of fact, we’ve won the award for the past four years. It would be great to make it five in a row and take the overall lead,’ says Wahida Parker, managing director of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company .
The World Travel Awards serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. When the metro is awarded for its destination appeal, it makes headlines and reminds travellers why they should visit us – again!to bring the ultimate travel excellence accolade back home, and tell family, friends and colleagues to do the same.
