A man was allegedly holding a woman at gunpoint in the Vegas hotel room and throwing furniture out of the window.
A man barricaded himself inside a hotel room at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas strip on Tuesday and was allegedly holding a woman at gunpoint and throwing furniture out of the window, according to police.
SWAT teams from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Bureau descended on the hotel room to respond to a domestic disturbance in the around 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, police said. Commander Stephen Connell said that it’s not clear if the woman and the man are in a relationship but she appeared to still be unharmed hours into the tense standoff.told KLASWhen police arrived at the hotel room, the man refused to open the door and told officers he was armed.Police evacuated the pool, according to a hotel guest.However, according to Connell, police have not yet seen a weapon. He said earlier reports of gunshots appear to be the man throwing items out of the hotel window.
Hotel guest Brooke Cantrell told KLAS that he was swimming in the pool when she saw someone appear to break an upstairs hotel room window and toss a chair through it. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Bureau Commander Stephen Connell said they have spoken to the woman being held hostage.“We are aware of the security incident at Caesars Palace,” the hotel said in a statement. “Our team is cooperating fully with law enforcement officers on scene who are handling the investigation. We refer you to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department for more information.”
