The Las Vegas Raiders are making a quarterback switch after benching Garnder Minshew against the Denver Broncos.

O’Connell replaced Minshew against the Denver Broncos in their 34-18 loss last week, throwing for 94 yards with an interception on 20 passes. The Raiders signed Minshew to a two-year, $25 million contract this offseason to be the starting quarterback. That is now over as O’Connell takes over. The differences between Minshew and O’Connell are significant, as O’Connell does have more mobility and physical talent to push the ball down the field. When the Steelers played the Raiders in the early portion of the 2023 season, they faced Jimmy Garoppolo, not O’Connell.will still be short some critical players. Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, wide receiver Davante Adams, and tight end Michael Mayer will all likely be sidelined for this game.
