Spot prices deliver 12-month payback for high-grade gold-antimony mine
Larvotto Resources has set its sights on joining the ranks of Australia's gold producers in early 2026, restarting mining at one of the world's largest antimony deposits in the process.Managing director Rob Heeks said the Larvotto plan was the first time that gold and antimony would be an equal priority at Hillgrove in New South Wales.
Using its conservative forecasts, post-tax net cash generated is expected to be $252 million, or $553 million at spot.Given more than a century of operations at Hillgrove, the extensive existing surface and underground infrastructure, and existing permitting, Larvotto believes it can speed to first production soon after a final investment decision. The mine could quickly become self-funding and support in-mine and near-mine exploration, with resources of 1.4Moz at 6.
