This past Monday, President Donald Trump issued a ringing endorsement for the re-election of Speaker Mike Johnson. On Truth Social, Mr. Trump wrote, "The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard-working, religious man.
Then, on New Year's Eve, walking into his Mar-a-Lago gala, Mr. Trump reiterated his support for Speaker Johnson.
