“Being an athlete, we are in a unique position given our visibility to be able to connect with a number of the bigger players in the investment world and companies that would be looking to talk with you,” Fitzgerald said to me. “When you are still in the game, you have more access often than a retired player and I think athletes are seeing this unique opportunity still being in their careers and looking to take advantage of the perks that come along with potentially more than before.
