The takeover of Australia’s largest funeral services business Invocare has finally been put to rest on Monday.

The company, which operates under the brands White Lady Funerals, and Simplicity Funerals has 15 cemeteries and crematoria in New South Wales and Queensland.

The board rejected a $1.2 billion non-binding offer from private equity firm TPG, saying the proposal does not make “compelling value for shareholders.”
