Detectives need help identifying the vehicle that struck and killed a 42-year-old bicyclist in South Los Angeles. The deadly hit-and-run crash happened on Oct. 27 at 9:55 p.m. near the intersection of Normandie Avenue and 23rd Street. The victim, 42-year-old Oscar Guardado, was riding his bike home when the vehicle struck him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver fled the crash site and did not render aid to Guardado.
After canvassing the area, detectives could not track down any other leads or videos of the crash. However, the videos they obtained showed that there were more witnesses to the collision. Investigators urged witnesses or anyone with information on the case to contact Sergeant Garbiel Nily of the South Traffic Division at 421-2500. The department asked everyone to please contact the South Traffic Division Watch Commander outside of business hours at 421-2577.
