VIENTIANE, April 9 (Xinhua): Laos has detected one more Covid-19 case, binging the total number in the country to 16, the Health Ministry said Thursday (April 9).
Lao Deputy Minister of Health Phouthone Meaungpak told a press conference in Lao capital Vientiane on Thursday that the new case involves a 23-year-old woman living in Vientiane, who had a close contact with the eighth infected case announced on March 28.As of Thursday, Laos has tested 903 suspected cases, confirming 16 cases.
The 11th case, a 55-year-old man from Papua New Guinea, is currently in the intensive care unit at Mittaphab Hospital, while other 15 cases are not in serious condition, according to Lao health officials.
