Monte Kiffin, a Super Bowl-winning assistant coach and a former defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, died last Thursday at the age of 84.

Monte Kiffin, 84, who spent 50 years coaching in the college and NFL ranks died July 11th in Oxford, Mississippi. The first day of SEC Media Days was held at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas on July 15, 2024.. He was one of the minds behind the Tampa 2 defensive scheme and helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl win in 2002.
With his father on staff, Lane led Ole Miss to an 11-2 overall record and a 6-2 conference record in 2023. Ole Miss beat No. 10 Penn State 38-25 in the Peach Bowl.“He never wanted anybody to have a bad day or be sad, so is me trying to do that” Kiffin said. “First rule of getting better is you got to show up.
