Up to half a million people could be made homeless without the eviction ban across the U.K.

Shamplina believes that the underlying cause of homelessness for those from vulnerable groups is the lack of social housing. "They rely on the rent as an income and to pay their mortgage, the government... encouraged landlords to go and ask their mortgage companies if they can get a deferment.
