The 23-year-old man was already in custody for a shooting when police discovered he was maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a minor while incarcerated and charged him with the sexual abuse of children.
A Lancaster man, jailed in connection with a shooting, was later charged with the sexual abuse of children after using the jail phone system to maintain a relationship with a minor, according to a police report.
While he was incarcerated, a minor — who confirmed they had a relationship with Cabrera before his arrest — entered their name, address and phone number into the jail system to speak with Cabrera, the report said. The victim also told investigators they had sent nude pictures to Cabrera, which police confirmed when they searched Cabrera’s phone and found he had also shared videos of inappropriate conduct with the victim to another adult.
